Prolific composer A.R. Rahman scores a hat-trick of sorts with survival drama Mili, which follows Mimi and Atrangi Re as his third score for a Hindi film with a strong female protagonist in two years. Fittingly, the spotlight shines on two gifted women as indie artist Abhilasha Sinha marks her Bollywood debut on the exuberant “Main Toh Main Hoon” and Khatija Rahman’s vocals add depth to “Tum Bhi Raahi (Reprise)”. Rahman—who crafts the record with lyricist Javed Akhtar—also creates inspiringly anthemic ballads in “Tum Bhi Raahi” and “Sun Aye Mili”.
