Over five years after collaborating on the 2016 smash Sairat, composer duo Ajay-Atul reunite with Nagraj Manjule for Jhund. Here, they conjure the same magic without sounding repetitive. Forceful folk rhythms drive anthem-with-attitude “Aaya Ye Jhund Hai” and the synth-pop-infused “Lafda Zhala”. Meanwhile, “Laat Maar” is enhanced by the contrasting textures of Sid Sriram’s vulnerable vocals and rapper Sourabh Abhyankar aka 100RBH’s the raw verses. Sriram also features on “Baadal Se Dosti”, a grand ballad that soars as high as his impressive vocal.
