  • Ravi was approached for composing the music of this film only after S.D. Burman had refused the offer.[MR8]
  • This film was re-made as "Bewafaa" (2005) starring Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Akshay Kumar.[1]
  • This B.R. Chopra film was remade in Malayalam as "Vivahitha" (1970).
  • Producer, director B.R. Chopra had first approached Shammi Kapoor for the role that eventually went to Ashok Kumar. Shammi Kapoor declined the offer saying that he couldn't see a character played by him have a wife (Mala Sinha) who would have an extra-martial affair with someone like Sunil Dutt.[MR15]
