Some of the songs written by him are “Zaraa Tumane Dekha” (“Jal Tarang”, 1949), “Dil Tujhe Diya Tha Tujhe Rakhne Ko” (“Malhar”, 1951), “Do Din Ki Mohabbat Mein” (“Chhote Babu”, 1957), “Waapas Le Le Yeh Jawani” (“Tarana”, 1951) and “Naino Mein Pyar Dole” (“Sheroo”, 1957). He has written songs for music directors like Husnlal-Bhagatram, Roshan, Hansraj Behl, Anil Biswas, Madan Mohan, A.R. Qureshi, Sardar Malik and Jagmohan. Lata Mangeshkar, Mohd Rafi, Mukesh, Talat Mahmood and Suraiya are some of the playback singers who have sung lines written by him.
