The makers of this film got into a legal wrangle with the makers of Zandu Balm for using their brand name in this song. The matter was settled out of court when producer Arbaaz Khan's wife, Malaika Arora, who played Munni in the song, agreed to endorse the brand in a TV ad.[1]
This song may have been an adaptation of a UP folk song, "Launda Badnaam Hua". It appears that this folk song was also adapted by Bappi Lahiri in the film "Rock Dancer" (1995). It's also possible that the source of inspiration of these songs might have been a song from an obscure Pakistani film "Mr. Charlie" (1992).[2][3]
This was the debut Hindi film song of singer Mamta Sharma.
Sajid - Wajid adapted the hook line of this song for their song "Munna Badnaam Hua" ("Dabangg 3", 2019).[4]
