- A.R. Rahman had composed this song as a sad number but adapted it to record a happy song based on Mani Ratnam's suggestion.
- Singer Minmini was in poor health and not in a position to sing when by A.R. Rahman had asked her to sing the Hindi version of her extremely popular Tamil song. Minmini had asked A.R. Rahman to give the song to some other singer, but the music director had waited for two months till Minmini recovered and was in a position to record the song.[MR10]
