This film was inspired by the Hollywood romantic drama "Love Story" (1970). Erich Segal, the screenwriter of "Love Story" (1970), later adapted his screenplay for a novel of the same title that was published the same year. The Hindi film "Khwahish" (2003) was also adapted from the same story.[1]
Rajshri Productions produced a sequel to this film titled "Jaana Pehchana" (2011) more than thirty years after its release. The sequel had the same actors as its leading pair - Sachin and Ranjeeta - and was directed by Sachin himself.[2]
Song
Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se - I - The title of this film was derived from Ravindra Jain's lyrics for this song.[3]
Kai Din Se Mujhe - The tune of this song's mukhda may have been inspired by the third movement of Mozart's "Symphony No. 40".
