• It appears that this film was inspired by the Hollywood thriller "The Usual Suspects" (1995).
• Actress Tanushree Dutta alleged in 2018 that while shooting Irrfan Khan for a closeup, the film's director Vivek Agnihotri had told her - "jao kapde utaar kar naacho" - in order to give cues to Irrfan. Irrfan and Suniel Shetty had reprimanded the director for this inappropriate remark.[1]

• Halka Halka Sa Yeh Sama - This song was probably inspired by Jesse Cook's "Breeze From Saint Maries".[3][4]
• Zahreeli Raatein - This song was an adaptation of Jal The Band's "Aadat". "Aadat" was also used in the film "Kalyug" (2005). In an interview in 2009, Pritam claimed that although this song was credited to him, he had nothing to do with it.[5][6][7]
• Bheega Bheega Sa Yeh December Hai - This song was a faithful copy of Pakistani artist Abrar Ul Haq's song "December", with similar lyrics as well. Pritam had earlier used this tune for two songs in the film "Agni Pankh" (2004).[8][9]
