Trivia

    Album

  • Zia Sarhadi had originally written the script of this film for filmmaker K. Asif with Dilip Kumar as the male lead. He approached Seth Chandulal Shah of Ranjit Movietone subsequently after he and Asif had a falling out. Shah liked the script so much that he secured the script's release from Asif. The producer had second thoughts later when he found out that Sarhadi wanted Balraj Sahni in Dilip Kumar's place but went through with the director's call. The film went on to become Sahni's breakthrough film.[MR69]
  • Bimal Roy cast Balraj Sahni in the lead role for "Do Bigha Zamin" (1953) after watching his performance in this film.[1][2]
  • It appears that the film's music records jointly credited lyricists Uddhav Kumar and Vishwamitra Adil. However, according to Uddhav Kumar's son Tarun Kaushal, his father wrote all the songs in the film except one. The song "Bogi Bogi Bogi (Kahan Chali Kahan Chali)" was written by Vishwamitra Adil.[MR1]

    Song

  • Gaaye Chala Ja Ek Din Tera Zamana Aayega - While the version of the song issued on the music records featured Lata Mangeshkar's voice along with G.M. Durrani's, the version in the film was a Durrani solo.[MR1]
