Trivia

    Album

  • This was actors Imran Khan and Prateik Babbar's debut film.
  • This was the directorial debut of writer and lyricist Abbas Tyrewala.
  • The parents of Imran Khan's character in this film were played by real-life couple Ratna Pathak and Naseeruddin Shah.
  • This film was several years in the making. It was initially supposed to be produced by Jhamu Sughand. When he ran into some cash flow issues and the film got delayed, director Abbas Tyrewala approached Aamir Khan, the uncle of the film's hero Imran Khan, with Jhamu's permission. It was in these circumstances that Aamir and his cousin, Mansoor Khan took over the production of this film. Mansoor Khan had retired from films after directing Josh (2000) and settled down in Ooty. It was on Aamir's request that he agreed to help with the film's production.[1]
  • Abbas Tyrewala and the film's casting director, Pakhi, fell in love during the making of this film and got married in 2006.[2]
  • Mansoor Khan had recommended Genelia D'Souza for the lead role in this film. He had earlier directed an advertisement for Parker pen featuring Amitabh Bachchan and her.[3]
  • This was singer Benny Dayal's debut Hindi film.
  • The title of this film was inspired by a line in the popular Hindi film song "Tera Mujhse Hai Pehle Ka Naata Koi" ("Aa Gale Lag Jaa", 1973).[4]
