• The film was a long time in the making and plagued by delays. The project was initiated in 2013 under the banner of UTV. Based on UTV's recommendation, debutant director Akshat Verma had met Pakistani actor Fawad Khan for the film's lead role. However, when UTV left the project, Verma went back to his first choice for the film, Saif Ali Khan. There was another delay when the film was ready for release and the CBFC ordered more than 70 cuts in it. The makers of the film went to the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) with an appeal against the CBFC's order. In December 2017, the FCAT passed the film with a 'U/A' certificate and asked just three words to be replaced. The film was finally released in January 2018.[1][2]
