Trivia

    Album

  • This film was director Sushil Majumdar's remake of his own Bengali film of the same title. The Bengali original was released in 1964 and starred Uttam Kumar.
  • This was director Sushil Majumdar's return to Hindi films after a few films in the 1940s. It happened to be his last Hindi film. He also had an acting role in it - he played the father of actress Raakhee's character.
  • Producer F.C. Mehra had initially wanted to cast Vyjayanthimala in the role that was played by Hema Malini in the film. It was Raaj Kumar who insisted on selecting Hema Malini for the role. Again, when Hema Malini's associates advised her against playing a negative role early in her career, it was Raaj Kumar who advised her to make her decision after watching the original Bengali film.[MR32]

    Song

  • Unke Khayal Aaye Toh - This song, sung by Mohammed Rafi, was filmed on another accomplished singer, G.M. Durrani.
  • Geet Gaata Hoon Main - This was lyricist Dev Kohli's breakout hit song. He had debuted earlier with a song in the film "Gunda" (1969).[1]
