    Album

  • This was A.V.M. Productions and director A. Bhimsingh's Hindi remake of their hit Tamil film "Kalathur Kannamma" (1960). The Tamil original starred Gemini Ganesan and Savitri and marked the debut of Kamal Haasan as a child actor. The Tamil film was also remade in Telugu as "Mooga Nomu" (1969).
  • Meena Kumari made history in 1963 by securing all three nominations for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. Other than this film, she was nominated for her performances in "Aarti" (1962) and "Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam" (1962), for which she eventually won the award.[1][2]

  • Tumhi Ho Mata Pita Tumhi Ho - The tune of this song's mukhda was originally composed by R. Sundarsanam for the song "Ammavum Neeye Appavum Neeye" which appeared in "Kalathur Kannamma" (1960), the Tamil film whose remake this film was.[3]
