Trivia

    Album

  • This was a biopic of actress Meena Kumari. Actress Dolly played the character of Meena Kumari, and Sona played Madhubala. The film was a long time in the making. It was launched in the early 1970s, certified in 1979, and its audio records issued the same year. However, the film was released only in 1981. The film's promotional material and opening credits misrepresented the film by featuring stars like Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor, Raaj Kumar, Rajendra Kumar, Sunil Dutt and Dharmendra. These stars were listed in the opening credits with the prefix "SEE IN FILM". The truth was that these stars appeared in the film since it included footage from Meena Kumari's films with them. The film's audio records included the following songs from Meena Kumari's films - "Kitna Hasin Hai Mausam" ("Azaad", 1955), "Bada Bedard Jahan Hai" ("Chirag Kahan Roshni Kahan", 1959), "Naghma-O-Sher Ki Saughat Kise Pesh Karoon" ("Gazal", 1964), "Sharabi Mera Naam" ("Chandan Ka Palna", 1967) and "Inhi Logon Ne" ("Pakeezah", 1972).[1][2][3][4][5]
