- The film was released directly on Netflix in April 2019.
- The film was a long time in the making - 17 years according to director Sarthak Dasgupta. According to him, the film went through 22 drafts. He had originally envisioned the film with Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Freida Pinto in the lead roles. However, they had become stars by the time he got around to making the film and he finally cast Manav Kaul and Amrita Bagchi in it. The film was shot in just 18 days.[1]

- Rimjhim Gire Sawan - This was a cover version of a song from the film "Manzil" (1977). The original song was composed by R.D. Burman and written by Yogesh Gaud. "Manzil" (1977) had two versions of the song - a solo each by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar.[3]
