Trivia

    Album

  • Aamir Khan was supposed to play the younger version of Shashi Kapoor's character in this film. On the day of the shooting, however, Nasir Husain replaced him with his younger brother Faisal Khan since Aamir was throwing a tantrum on the set. Aamir would debut later in "Yaadon Ki Baaraat" (1973).[1][MR14]
  • This was one of the two films in which music director R.D. Burman appeared as an actor. He was credited as Pancham in this film. His other film as an actor was "Bhoot Bungla" (1965) for which he was not credited.[2]
  • The word "Mausam" in the film's title was spelled "Mousum" on its music records.
  • R.D. Burman developed a background music theme he composed for this film to compose the song "Aaj Unse Pehli Mulaqat Hogi" ("Paraya Dhan", 1971). The theme music had Hariprasad Chaurasia playing the flute and Shivkumar Sharma playing the santoor and was used in a picnic scene featuring Shashi Kapoor and Asha Parekh.[3]

    Song

  • Tum Bin Jaoon Kahan - 1 (Happy) - The film featured four versions of this song - a happy and a sad version each by Kishore Kumar and Mohammed Rafi. Kishore's versions were filmed on Bharat Bhooshan and Rafi's on Shashi Kapoor. The film's records included only the two happy versions. However, later releases by music label Saregama included Kishore's sad version as well.
  • Tum Bin Jaoon Kahan - 1 (Happy) - Manohari Singh played the mandolin in this song.[4]
  • Ni Sultana Re - Percussionist Homi Mullan played the duggi in this song.[5]
  • Tum Bin Jaoon Kahan - 2 (Happy) - R.D. Burman had used the tune of this song earlier for the Bengali non-film song "Ek Din Pakhi Ure" (1969). The Bengali song was sung by Kishore Kumar.[6]
  • Che Khush Nazaare - Majrooh Sultanpuri made a reference to his daughters - Naugul, Saba, and Naubahar - in the lyrics of this song. The line that referred to them was "gulon ki waadi saba ki basti gali baharon ki".
