• Aamir Khan's character in this film bore his real name Amir Hussain.[MR12]
• This was the debut Hindi film for some its key cast and crew members - director Aditya Bhattacharya, producer Asif Noor, cinematographer Santosh Sivan, editor Sreekar Prasad, dialogue writer Nuzhat Khan and actors Madhukar Todarmal and Naina Balsaver. Aditya Bhattacharya and Nuzhat Khan came from illustrious film families - Aditya was filmmaker Basu Bhattacharya's son, and Nuzhat was Aamir Khan's sister.
• There were plans to re-release this film in 2009. However, Aamir Khan was against its release since this was at a time when there was a dispute going on between Hindi film producers and multiplex owners, and film producers had decided to not release any films in multiplex theatres. The plans to re-release the film eventually fell through.[1]
• This film was released after "Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak" (1988) but it was the first film Aamir Khan shot for.[2]
• This was a songless film.
