Trivia

    Album

  • This was filmmaker Mehboob Khan's last film. He died two years after its release. The film was a spiritual successor to his previous film, the highly successful "Mother India" (1957). Unlike its predecessor, it sank without a trace. Khan cast his adopted son Sajid in the film's titular role. Sajid had debuted earlier in "Mother India" (1957).[1]
  • This was actress Simi Garewal's debut Hindi film.

    Song

  • Nanha Munna Raahi Hoon Desh Ka Sipahi Hoon - Singer Shanti Mathur made her film debut with three songs in this film. While this song was a big hit, she couldn't succeed in the film industry. This may have been because her voice was considered suitable only for child characters. She sang just one more Hindi film song after this - "Mera Naam Hai Mehmood Junior" ("Balak", 1969).[2]
  • Diya Naa Bujhe Ri Aaj Hamara - Abdul Kareem played the tabla in the song and Ramrao played the jal tarang in it.
