It appears that the film was originally scheduled to be released in 2017. However, it was delayed and released only in 2018. In the aftermath of the 2016 Uri attack, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena had threatened to disrupt the screening of films featuring Pakistani actors. In late 2016, producer Durgesh Paul offered to donate 70 per cent of the film's profits to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund in exchange for a "smooth release". Paul was concerned about roadblocks to the film's release since it featured the Pakistani actress Saeeda Imtiaz. It's possible that Paul postponed the release due to this.[1]
The film was an adaptation of the short story "The Tell-Tale Heart" (1843) by Edgar Allan Poe.[2]
This was Tom Alter's last released film. The actor passed away in 2017, before the film's release. His lines in it were dubbed by a voice artist.
