Trivia

    Album

  • This was the directorial debut of Bharat Rungachary. He had started his career as an assistant to Hrishikesh Mukherjee.
  • The story of this film was written by Preeti Sapru, the daughter of actor Sapru. It was the actress's only film as a writer.
  • Various media outlets had reported that Sanjay Dutt and Rekha had gotten married during the making of this film. Sanjay Dutt had strongly refuted this story and threatened to sue Karanjia & Co, the owners of the Cine Blitz magazine which had first reported the story. Dutt and Rekha had stopped working together after this film for a long time. The next time they were seen together on the screen was when Rekha made a cameo appearance for the Hindi film song "Kaisi Paheli Zindagani" ("Parineeta", 2005).[1][2]

    Song

  • Maine Dil Diya - The tune of the mukhda of this song was adapted from the track "Pulstar" by Vangelis from his album "Albedo 0.39" (1976). "Pulstar" was also adapted by Rajesh Roshan for the song "Zindagi Ke Khel Mein" ("Khel", 1992).[3][4]
  • Aisa Sama Na Hota - Pandit Ronu Majumdar played the flute in the introduction of this song based on R.D. Burman's instruction to get a yodelling effect out of the flute.[MR2]
