Trivia

    Album

  • Producer Sasadhar Mukherjee agreed to finance this film on the condition that his son Joy Mukerji be made to look like the Hollywood star Marlon Brandon in it. While Sadhana declined the role of the female lead in the film, Asha Parekh came on board after her demand for double her usual fees was met.[MR21]

    Song

  • Teri Surat Se Nahi Milti Kisi Ki Surat - Hasrat Jaipur slightly modified a couplet by Imam Bakhsh 'Nasikh' to come up with the mukhda of this song. The original lines went "Teri soorat se kisi ki nahin milti soorat / Hum jahan mein teri tasveer liye phirte hain".
  • Yeh Meri Zindagi - The tune of the song's mukhda was adapted from the Jewish wedding song "Hevenu Shalom Aleichem".
  • Pyar Ki Aag Mein Tan Badan Jal Gaya - A brief interlude in the song's last antara used the tune of Bobby Darin's theme music for the Hollywood film "Come September" (1961). This theme was used in many other Hindi films - for the songs "Aaja Mere Humzuban Main Dhoondhoon Yahan Tu Hai Kahan" ("Rocket Tarzan", 1963), "Pukarta Chala Hoon Main" ("Mere Sanam", 1965), "Nazrein Mili Dil Dhadka" ("Raja", 1995) and "Dole Dole Dil Dole" ("Baazi", 1995) and in the background score of several films including "Kahin Pyar Na Ho Jaye" (1963), "Woh Kaun Thi" (1964) and "Hamraaz" (1967).[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]
  • Main Tere Pyar Mein (Jaane Yeh Mausam) - This was Geeta Dutt's last song for S.D. Burman. The music director, who was using her sparingly at the time, may have picked her for it on filmmaker Pramod Chakravorty's recommendation. Geeta Dutt was the sister of Chakravorty's wife, Lakshmi Roy.[MR21]
