Amit Kilam is the drummer and the youngest member of the popular Indian rock band, Indian Ocean. Indian Ocean was formed in New Delhi in 1990 and Amit joined, straight out of college, in 1994 when drummer Shaleen Sharma left the band. The Susmit Sen-Asheem Chakravarty-Rahul Ram-Amit Kilam line-up became the most successful one in the band’s history.

Other than the drums, he also plays Gabgubi and recorder among several other percussion instruments. He was introduced to music at the age of four by his parents when he learned the Hawaiian guitar. He is also a good singer and an actor. Amit has sung songs in movies like “Satyagraha” (2013) and “Yeh Hai Bakrapur” (2014).
Indian Ocean ventured into mainstream music when they composed music for the acclaimed Hindi film, “Black Friday” in 2004. The band’s last album is called 16/330 Khajoor Road and was released in 2010 after the demise of one of their founder members, Asheem Chakravarty. The band has six albums to their credit.
