G. V. Prakash Kumar, is a playback singer and a music composer who has worked in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films. He is music director A.R. Rahman’s nephew and got his break as a singer in his uncle’s songs like "Chikku Bukku Rayile" ("Gentleman", 1993) and the Hindi version of "Kuchi Kuchi Rakkamma" ("Bombay", 1995).
He debuted as a music director with the Tamil film "Veyil" (2006) and got recognition for his music for "Madrasapattinam" (2010) and "Mayakam Enna" (2011). In Hindi, he has composed the music for "Joker" (2012) and the background score for the two-part "Gangs Of Wasseypur" (2012).
