Born on August 8, 1973, Javed Bashir is a Pakistani singer. He started learning music at an early age from his father, Bashir Ahmed Khan, a qawwal. Javed learnt classical music under the tutelage of his uncle, Ustad Mubarik Ali Khan.

He started his career performing solo and cutting albums across various genres including qawwali, bhangra and pop. A career defining moment came in 2002, when Javed Bashir, joined the Mekaal Hassan Band, a popular sufi rock band in Pakistan. His popularity skyrocketed when he performed Aaj Latha Naeeo for Season 2 of Pakistan’s Coke Studio (2009). Javed temporarily parted ways with the Mekaal Hasan Band in 2010 and recorded a solo album “Subrang” in 2011. However, he later came back to take up his lead vocalist role in the band.
Javed Bashir’s Bollywood debut came in 2012 with three songs “Piya Tu Kaahe Rootha Re” (“Kahaani”) for Vishal - Shekhar and “Tera Naam Japdi Phiran” (“Cocktail”) and “O Re Khuda” (“Rush) for Pritam.
