Born on 29 January, he grew up in Lahore, Pakistan looking up to the music of A.R. Rahman, who he worked with, later in his career. He sang the ARR song “Shakalaka Baby” in the movie “Nayak” in 2001 along with Vasundhara Das. He has to his credit, four pop albums recorded between 2001 and 2009. He also owns S.U. studio in Lahore.

He won the award for Upcoming Music Director of the Year at the Mirchi Music Awards in 2010 for his music score in the film “Aashayein”.
