Shweta Pandit is a Bollywood playback singer. Other than Hindi she has also recorded songs in Telugu and Tamil.
Shweta hails from a family of musical exponents. Her great gradfather was Mewati Gharana’s Pandit Motiram, Hindustani vocalist Pandit Jasraj is her grand uncle, Pandit Pradeep Narayan, her elder brother, music directors Jatin and Lalit Pandit, her uncles, playback singer Sulakshana Pandit, her aunt and tabla player Vishwaraj Pandit is her father. Shweta's sister Shraddha is also a playback singer.
Shweta started singing for Bollywood movies when she was only four years old. Her first film as singer was "Anjali" (1990). After a few other films as a child artist, Shweta got her big break in Aditya Chopra’s "Mohabbatein" (2000) in which she lent her voice to five songs.
Shweta has been a steady member of A.R. Rahman's concert team over the last few years. She has won the Filmfare Award for the Best Female Playback Singer (Telugu) for the popular song "Nenani Neevani" ("Kotha Bangaru Lokam", 2008).
