Sohail Sen is a music composer and playback singer who debuted in Bollywood with “Sirf” (2008).
He is the son of music composer Sameer Sen and the fourth generation of musicians to emerge from the Sen family, starting with Jamal Sen. His grandfather Shambhu Sen taught him classical music and he worked for nine years with his father, fine-tuning his composing skills.
It was Ashutosh Gowarikar’s “What’s Your Rashee?” (2009) that proved to be a breakthrough film for Sohail. Apart from composing music for the film, he also sang most of his songs in this movie.
While he has been nominated thrice for Stardust Awards and once for Filmfare award in 2011, he won Big Star Entertainment Award for Most Entertaining Music Score for “Ek Tha Tiger” (2012).
