Trivia

  • This song had the same tune as another song from the film, "Ja Ja Ja Ja Bewafa". While this song evoked a happy mood, "Ja Ja Ja Ja Bewafa" has a heartbreak song.
  • Majrooh Sultanpuri had originally written the second line in the mukhda of this song as "pyar mujhko tujhse ho gaya". Guru Dutt felt that the phrase "mujhko tujhse" felt dry ("khushk") and suggested that the poet use "humko tumse" instead. Majrooh thought the usage was not proper but agreed to change the lyrics accordingly.
  • Lyricist Majrooh Sultanpuri used this song, along with "Mohabbat Kar Lo Jee Bhar Lo" and "Naa Naa Naa Naa Tauba Tauba", as examples to describe Guru Dutt's liking for songs that did not use preludes and presented themselves as an extension of dialogues.[1]
