Trivia

  • This song was adapted from Stevie Wonder's hit track "Part-Time Lover" (1985).[1]
  • Sridevi had a sense that this song would become a big hit and had advised director Pankaj Parashar to refrain from improvising its shooting on the sets. It was based on this advice that Parashar decided to storyboard the song with choreographer Saroj Khan before shooting it.[2]
  • Pankaj Parashar had just three days available to shoot this song before the start of a union strike at Mehboob Studios where this song was being shot. With a day of shooting to go, Sridevi had come down with a high fever. Keeping the film's schedule in mind and ignoring the protestations of her secretary, Sridevi had insisted on shooting the rest of the song without taking a break. This despite the fact the song involved her getting drenched under a rain machine.[3]
  • Sachin - Jigar re-created this song for the film "I Me Aur Main" (2013).[4]
