- This song was initially released with the title "Beyonse Sharma Jaayegi". Within hours of its release, the lyrics of the song drew strong criticism on social media. Many deemed the song's hook line, "Tujhe dekh ke goriya Beyonce sharma jayegi", to be racist. The juxtaposition of the word "goriya" (fair girl) with Beyonce, the black American artist, was considered offensive. As the social media outrage grew, the film's director Maqbool Khan, and lyricists Kumaar and Raj Shekhar clarified that the word "goriya" was meant to refer to a girl, and not a light-skinned girl. They apologised for the unintended offence caused and eventually released a different version of the song with a different title and lyrics. Kumaar and Raj Shekhar, who were jointly credited for the song's lyrics, did not clarify who between them had written the controversial lines.[1][2]
