Egged by the film's crew, Amitabh Bachchan had agreed to sing this song but asked that the song's scale be reduced so he could hit the high notes comfortably. However, when he saw the rushes, he felt that his singing sounded flat and requested that his voice be replaced with Kishore Kumar's.[1]
Amitabh Bachchan had gotten injured while shooting this song when, based on the dance director's instruction, he had broken a "dahi handi" with his head. Much to the crew's amazement, the actor had gotten his injury patched up and returned to the set to resume shooting. Amitabh had another shoot scheduled for the song "Gore Nahin Hum Kaale Sahi" ("Desh Premee", 1982) later that afternoon. He had concealed his injury while shooting this song by having the makeup artists paint the white bandage and pulling his wigs down lower than normal.[2][3]
Amitabh Bachchan had reached the song's set earlier than the scheduled start of shooting due to a communication gap. When director Ravi Tandon arrived at the set, he was amazed to see the superstar watering the ground. He had taken it upon himself to do this since the dust flying off the ground during shooting aggravated his asthma.[4]
