This was a medley song made up of five separate songs, all of which appear to have older, traditional antecedents. These songs are the Pashto language song "Gul De Pa Zulfo Baande Qatae De", "Khoon-E-Jigar Ko Peete Hain", "Laila Laila Pukaroon Main Ban Mein", "Maine Lakhon Ke Bol Sahe", and "Andheriya Ho Raat Sajan Raiho Ke Jaiho". It appears that the song was used in the film but was not issued on records.
The song featured the lines "Laila Laila pukaroon main ban mein / Laila pyari basi morey man mein" sung by Talat Mahmood. The lyrics of these lines, and possibly their tune, may have owed their origin to a song from the Hindi film "Laila Majnu" (1931). It's possible that the lyrics and tune have older antecedents. They were also used in the Hindi film songs "Majnu Majnu Pukaroon Main Ban Mein" ("Resham", 1952), "Aata Hai Yaad Mujhko Guzra Hua Zamana" ("Shri Naqad Narayan", 1955), "Nautanki Laila Majnu" ("Bhabhi", 1957), "Main Pagal Hoon" ("Girl Friend", 1960), and "Yaar Kapada Shaandar Hai" ("Painter Babu", 1983). The mukhda of the song "Raat Bhar Ka Hai Mehman Andhera" ("Sone Ki Chidiya", 1958) also had a similar tune.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]
