Roshan adapted the tune of this song to compose his own classic "Rahen Na Rahen Hum" ("Mamta", 1966). He apparently sent word to S.D. Burman through his son R.D. Burman seeking his tacit approval.[MR4]
This S.D. Burman song inspired several other Hindi films songs over the years. These songs include - "Tera Dil Kahan Hai" ("Chandni Chowk", 1954), "Yehi Hai Tamanna Tere Dar Ke Samne" ("Aap Ki Parchhaiyan", 1964), "Rahen Na Rahen Hum" ("Mamta", 1966), "Hamen Raaston Ki Zaroorat Nahin Hai" ("Naram Garam", 1981), the title song of "Agar Tum Na Hote" (1983) and "Saagar Kinare" ("Saagar", 1985).[1]
