Trivia

    Album

  • This was comedian Kapil Sharma's first film as a producer. It was also the directorial debut of Rajiev Dhingra, his childhood friend. Dhingra had worked as a creative partner in The Kapil Sharma Show and also directed the first thirty episodes of the Comedy Nights with Kapil that aired between 2013 and 2016. The film got caught up in a series of events that resulted in Kapil Sharma descending into alcoholism and depression, and The Kapil Sharma Show going off the air. There were allegations that Dhingra had asked Sharma to prioritise this film over the show, resulting in the cancellation of some shoots for the TV show. Dhingra contended that the comedian was finding it difficult to fulfil all his commitments and had become overworked. There were several reports of Sharma's alcohol abuse and erratic behaviour. The most significant of these was about a public fight with Sunil Grover, his long-time colleague on the show. The fight generated a lot of negative publicity and resulted in Grover leaving the show. Shortly after his exit, another popular member of the show, Sugandha Mishra, also quit. The show's viewership fell dramatically and drove Kapil Sharma into depression. He cancelled many shoots for the show during this period, including a high profile one in which Ajay Devgn was supposed to promote "Baadshaho" (2017). The producers finally took The Kapil Sharma Show off the air in August 2017. The failure of this film compounded Sharma's problem further and he became estranged from Dhingra. He battled with alcohol addiction over the next several months and underwent treatment for depression. He eventually made a comeback with a new season of The Kapil Sharma Show airing in December 2018.[1][2][3][4][5]

    Song

  • Sajna Sohne Jiha - Actor, producer Kapil Sharma's mother Janak Rani, sister Pooja Devgan, and sister-in-law Muskan Pun made a cameo appearance in the film for this song.[6]
  • Gulbadan - The song opened with lines adapted from a couplet attributed to Mirza Ghalib - "Tere husn ko parde ki zaroorat nahin hai Ghalib / Kaun hosh mein rahta hai tujhe dekhne ke baad".
