Ankur Tewari, born February 5, 1977 in Brussels, Belgium dons many a cap - that of a composer, playback singer, screenplay and dialogue writer, lyricist and so on. Though he had a degree in hotel management, he wanted to be a part of the film and television industry. He tried to find work in Mumbai but eventually left it for Delhi, where he met Colonel Kapoor, writer/director of Doordarshan serial “Fauji” (1988).

Living in the latter’s house, Ankur Tewari learnt his ropes in film making, directed stage plays, composing jingles and so on. Feeling ready this time, he left for Mumbai.
The low budget film “Let’s Enjoy” (2004) was among his first projects, which he wrote the story of. Three years and many rejections later, he was asked to write the lyrics for “Ek Chalis Ki last Local” (2007). He also accepted small roles in “Slumdog Millionaire” (2008), “Luck By Chance” (2009) and “Soundtrack” (2011), wrote lyrics for “Quick Gun Murugan” (2009) and “Aao Wish Karein” (2009), composing music for it as well, along with the music for “Raat Gayi, Baat Gayi” (2009).
