Gopal Singh Nepali was a poet who also served as a lyricist in many Hindi films. He was born in 1911 in Bettiah, Bihar. He was active in the film industry from mid-1940s to the late 1960s. He was also a journalist and worked in publications like Ratlam Times, Chitrapat and Sudha. He is remembered for the patriotic songs he wrote during the Indo-China War of 1962. He passed away in 1963.
