Hema Sardesai is a playback singer in the Hindi film industry. In her career that began in 1989, she has sung in more than 60 Bollywood movies.
Sardesai hails from Goa and was born in Mumbai. She debuted in Bollywood with the Juhi Chawla starrer “Goonj” (1989). She has associated with music directors like Anu Malik, Nadeem-Shravan, Vishal Bhardwaj, A.R. Rahman, Rajesh Roshan and Pritam.
A few of her hit songs are “Awaara Bhavaren” (“Sapnay”, 1997), “Ishq Chandi Hai”, “Jungal Hai Aadhi Raat Hai” (“Biwi No.1”, 1999), “Kehna Hai Tumse Kehna” (“Mann”, 1999), “Apun Bola” (“Josh”, 2000), “Eli Re Eli” (“Yaadein, 2001), “San Sanana” (“Ashoka”, 2001) and “Badal Pe Paon Hai” (“Chak De! India”, 2007).
