Jaideep Sahni writes screenplays and songs in the Hindi Cinemas. He has won three Filmfare awards for his screenplays. Born in 1968, he was raised in New Delhi.
As a lyricist he debuted with Ram Gopal Verma’s film “Jungle” in 2000. He then went on to write the songs in movies like “Naach” (2004), “Aaja Nachle” (2007), Johnny Gaddaar (2007), “Tere Bin Laden” (2010) and “Dum Maaro Dum” (2011).
A few of his hit songs include “Bhangra Bistar Beer” (“Dil Bole Hadippa!”, 2009), “Dance Pe Chance Maar Le” (“Rab Ne Banadi Jodi”, 2008), “Cool Cool” (“Roadside Romeo”, 2008) “Baadal Pe Pao Hai” (“Chak De! India”, 2007) and “Bure Bure” (“Bluffmaster!”, 2005).
He has worked with music directors like Salim-Sulaiman, Vishal-Shekhar, Amar Mohile, Pritam Chakraborty and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. His lines have been sung by musicians like Papon, Sukhwinder Singh, Shankar Mahadevan, Salim Merchant, K.K., Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal, Mika Singh, Hard Kaur, Alisha Chinai and Sunidhi Chauhan.
