Jolly Mukherjee is a playback singer, songwriter and music director in the Hindi film industry.
He started out as a backup vocalist in TV ads and has also worked on in-flight music. Known as the King of Strings he has worked with Madras Cinematic Orchestra, Icelandic musician Bjork and is well-known as the playback voice of Bangladeshi actor Dipjol. Some of his popular songs in Bollywood are “Dil Laga Na” (“Dhoom 2”, 2006), “Chahe Pandit Ho Chahe Kazi” (“Hey Ram”, 2000), “Zinda Hai Hum To” (“Josh”, 2000), “Kya Hua (Loveria)” (“Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman”, 1992) and “Chandni O Meri Chandni” (“Chandni”, 1989). As a music director he has composed for the 2009 movie “Detective Naani”.
