Nusrat Badr is a lyricist and writer in Hindi films.
Born to poet Bashir Badr, he has two siblings, a sister and a brother. He attended college at Aligarh Muslim University and currently lives in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
A.R. Rahman collaborated with him on the film “Ada” (2008) with songs like “Gulfisha”, “Gum Sum” and “Hai Dard Faila”. In 2007 he worked on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Saawariya” and wrote the song “Thode Badmash”. Previously he had written songs like “Allah Hu”, “Pyaar Bhara Khat” and “Woh Chand Pe Titli” for the 2006 film “Rehguzar”.

Famously, he worked on the 2002 blockbuster “Devdas” where he penned unforgettable lines like “Bairi Piya”, “Hamesha Tumko Chaha”, “Dola Re”, “Kahe Chhed Mohe”, “Maar Daala”and “Silsila Yeh Chaahat Ka” among others.
Movies he has been a lyricist on include “Deewangee” (2002), “Deewaar” (2004), “Alag” (2006), “Rehguzar” (2006), “Ada” (2008) and “Impatient Vivek” (2010). Shahdaab Bhartiya, Neeraj Shrivastava, Raja Ali, Aanamik, Aadesh Shrivastava and Ismail Darbar are some of the composers he has worked with.
