Ranjit Barot is a drummer, music director, composer, producer and arranger. He was the sound engineer and composer for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Commonwealth Games 2010. The “India Inclusive” section at the World Economic Forum, Davos 2011 began with his performance.
Raised in a family with a tradition of music and dance, he was a natural at drums even at the young age of 12. By 17 he had made a name for himself as a drummer.

He has composed background music for movies like “Tashan” (2008), “Cash” (2007), “Dus” (2005), “Main Hoon Na” (2004), “Rishtey” (2002), “Aks” (2001) and “Fiza” (2000). He has contributed as a playback singer to movies including “Shaitan” (2011), “Acid Factory” (2009), “Aryan” (2006), “Baabul” (2006), “Holiday” (2006) and “Dus” (2005). He has composed music for “Holiday” (2006), “Sankat City” (2009) and more. He has also worked on movies like “The Mystic Masseur” (2001), “Bride and Prejudice” (2004), “Couples Retreat” (2009) and “127 Hours” (2010) with industry greats like Zakir Hussain and A.R. Rahman. He has been a featured drummer for legends like R.D. Burman, Laxmikant – Pyarelal, Kalyanji – Anandji and to the present, as one of the most sought after arranger/ producers.
He has toured through Europe and the West and cut albums with the likes of John McLaughlin, Henrik Andersen, Lata Mangeshkar and Shubha Mudgal.
