- S.D. Burman had a bitter argument with filmmaker O.P. Ralhan over his choice of singer for this song. While Burman had Manna Dey in mind, Ralhan wanted him to use Mukesh for the song. Ralhan gave in eventually but the episode damaged his relationship with Burman permanently. The senior music director did not attend the film's premiere and never worked with O.P. Ralhan again.[MR21]
