This was Swanand Kirkire's first Hindi film as a lead actor. He not only got top billing as an actor in the film but also sang a song in it. Although he was known primarily as a lyricist, Kirkire did not write the lyrics for any song in the film.
The film's music was released in December 2014 but the film was certified and released in January 2015.
A special screening of the film was conducted for the LGBT community in Mumbai. Its portrayal of a family accepting a gay member was appreciated by the community.[1]
