Trivia

    Album

  • This was a bilingual film that was shot and released simultaneously in Hindi and Tamil. Both versions of the film had the same title but had a slightly different cast.
  • Singer Shweta Pandit made her acting debut in the film. She also sang a song for it.

    Song

  • Mast Kalandar - The video promo of this song resulted in protests by the Sindhi community who objected to the shots of lovemaking and violence in it.[1]
  • Maria Pitache - Remo Fernandes not only composed, wrote, and sang the song but also appeared on the screen for it.
  • Bandhay - This was the Hindi version of Modern Mafia's original track "Arnie" from their 2011 album "Random Sheep". Director Bejoy Nambiar had heard the band's album and asked them if he could use "Arnie" in the film. The band had to try out different versions of the song in Hindi till they landed on the one that made it to the film.[2]
  • Yun Hi Re - Tamil film singer-composer Anirudh Ravichander made his Hindi film debut in this song.
  • Ya Husain - Some sections of the Muslim community raised objections to the sequences shot for this song, which included a Muharram procession. After discussing with leaders of the community and hearing their concerns, director Bejoy Nambiar removed the song from the film but retained it in the audio release.[3]
  • Three Kills - The original title of this song was "Kunj Gutka". It was part of The Lightyears Explode's album "The Revenge of Kalicharan" (2013) which came out after the release of this film. Bejoy Nambiar came across the song when the band played it on the TV program, MTV Rush, which Nambiar was directing. Nambiar asked the band if he could use the song in his film and they consented. It was only later that the band found out that the song had been renamed to fit the film's context.[4]
