Trivia

    Album

  • This film was an adaptation of a story by Omar Khayyam Saharanpuri.
  • This was the only Hindi film in which Rahul Rawail was credited as a writer. He had debuted in Hindi films two years earlier with the film "Gunahgaar" (1980).[1]
  • This was director H.S. Rawail's last Hindi film. His children Rahul and Ruhi Rawail wrote the film.
  • This was lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi's last released Hindi film. It was released two years after his death in 1980.
  • Actor Jeetendra decided to take over the production of this film from its original producer when it was delayed by several years. The film, produced by his brother Parsan Kapoor under Jeetendra's Tirupati Pictures banner, was a flop and decimated Jeetendra financially. It was the colossal failure of this film that drove Jeetendra to work in and produce films in South India. South Indian film units were efficient, completed films quickly, and gave his career and financial situation the much-needed stability they needed in uncertain times. Jeetendra ended up spending the next few years in the South. Years later, the actor said that he regretted having stayed in the South longer than he had needed to as it had impacted his family life.[2]

    Song

  • Sarakti Jaye Hai Rukh Se Naqab Ahista Ahista - This Ameer Minai ghazal gained mainstream popularity through Jagjit Singh's rendition in his hit album "The Unforgettables" (1976).
