Trivia

    Album

  • This was the first Hindi film to be shot in Afghanistan. The film acknowledged the government and the people of Afghanistan in its opening.
  • The film's plot was loosely adapted from the Hollywood film series, "The Godfather", which was adapted from Mario Puzo's novel of the same title.
  • It appears that Feroz Khan consulted with Bombay's "Matka King" Ratan Khatri for the character played by Prem Nath in this film. Khatri, who ran an illegal gambling network, went on to finance and present the film "Rangila Ratan" (1976).[1][2]

    Song

  • Theme Music (Happy) - Although not credited for it, it was Kersi Lord who composed and produced this theme music. His tune for the instrumental track may have been inspired by an orchestral music piece, "El Condor Pasa", composed by the Peruvian musician Daniel Alomia Robles, and based on Peruvian folk music. The American duo Simon & Garfunkel had adapted this tune for the song "El Condor Pasa (If I Could)". Anu Malik used the same tune many years later for the songs "Zindagi Ne Pukara Chale Aaye Hum" ("Khatarnaak", 1990), "Teri Chahat Ke Siva" ("Jaanam", 1993) and "Taare Hain Barati" ("Virasat", 1997).[3][4][5][6][7]
