Trivia

    Song

  • Main Khush Hona Chahoon Khush Ho Na Sakoon - This is said to be the first playback song in the history of Hindi films. Till this song, artists who acted also sang for their characters. In this song, K.C. Dey sang for the character played by actor Ahi Sanyal, who lip-synced the words "Aaj Mero Ghar Mohan Aayo".
  • Jeevan Ka Sukh Aaj Prabhu Mohe - Two lines of this song were sung by K.C. Dey in the film. However, in the audio release, it was recorded entirely in K.L. Saigal's voice.
  • Andhe Ki Lathi Tu Hi Hai (Dil Ke Phaphole Jal Uthe) - Two lines of this song were sung by K.C. Dey in the film. It was recorded in its entirety by K.L. Saigal for audio release.
  • Andhe Ki Lathi Tu Hi Hai (Dil Ke Phaphole Jal Uthe) - This song opened with the couplet "Dil ke phaphole jal uthe seene ke daag se / Is ghar ko aag lag gayi ghar ke chirag se". The couplet is attributed to an obscure poet named Mahtab Tai Taban. It is said that Taban recited this shair at a Delhi mushaira when he was only 12 years old and was highly appreciated. The couplet was used in two other Hindi film songs - "Jal Ke Dil Khaaq Hua" ("Parichay", 1954) and "Taqdeer Ne Hans Hans Ke Mere Dil Ko Rulaya" ("Jallad", 1956).[1][2]
