Trivia
- This was director Krishnan - Panju's remake of their own hit Tamil film "Kuzhandaiyum Deivamum" (1965). They also remade the film in Telugu as "Leta Manasulu" (1966). The film's story owes its origin to the German book "Das Doppelte Lottchen" (1949) written by Erich Kastner. The book has been adapted for several films in various languages. The British film "Twice Upon a Time" (1953), the Disney film "The Parent Trap" (1961) and its 1998 remake of the same title were all adapted from this book. The Malayalam film "Sethubandhanam" (1974), the Kannada film "Makkala Bhagya" (1976), and the Hindi films "Pyar Ke Do Pal" (1986) and "Pyar Ke Kabil" (1987) were also adaptations of the same story.[1][2]
