Trivia

    Album

  • This was the first film of the "Hate Story" franchise of erotic thrillers. While this film was produced by BVG Films, a unit of Vikram Bhatt's ASA Productions & Enterprises, the next three films were produced by T-Series. In 2012, T-Series signed a five-film deal with ASA to diversify their business and expand their footprint in film production. The sequels appear to be a result of this deal. Vikram Bhatt resigned from ASA Productions in 2013 and filed a police complaint against its promoters in 2015. He alleged that the promoters took money from T-Series and Reliance Entertainment to produce films and embezzled the funds. Bhatt claimed that he had to use his own funds to make the films that were part of the deal.[1][2][3][4][5]
  • This was the debut Hindi film of the Bengali film actress Paoli Dam.
  • This film was in the news for its erotic content and explicit language. The Censor Board asked some words to be beeped out and scenes to be cut in its trailer. The Board asked the length of its six lovemaking scenes to be reduced by half and gave the film an 'A' certificate. In another instance, the West Bengal Board of Censorship banned two of the film's posters and allowed six others on the condition that Paoli Dam's bare body would be painted blue in them. The film's distributors challenged the Board's order but the State High Court upheld it.[6][7][8]
  • In the days following Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide in June 2020, director Vivek Agnihotri revealed that he had signed the actor for this film. However, Sushant couldn't work in it since he was under contract with Balaji Telefilms who refused to release him. He eventually made his debut in "Kai Po Che" (2013).[9][10]
