Trivia

    Album

  • Akshay Kumar had a fallout with director Shirish Kunder over this film. Akshay was unhappy when it was decided that the film would not be shot in 3D as originally conceived. In the early days of the shooting, when Akshay wanted to know why the film was not being shot in 3D, he was told that the film would be converted to 3D in post-production. The relationship between Akshay and Shirish Kunder deteriorated further when the director disregarded Akshay's suggestions regarding the visual effects and editing in the film. The star eventually washed his hands off the project and refused to promote the film.[1]
  • The film was panned by critics and was a box office disaster. Shirish Kunder, who donned multiple hats for it - director, editor, lyricist, and background music composer - took a break from filmmaking after it. His next Hindi film, "Mrs. Serial Killer" (2020), came eight years later.[2]
  • This was the Hindi film debut of G.V. Prakash Kumar as a music director. He had started his career singing songs for his uncle A.R. Rahman before debuting as a music director for the Tamil film "Veyil" (2006) when he was only 18 years old.
  • Director Shirish Kunder paid homage to production designer Samir Chanda who died of a heart attack during the film's making. His dedication in the film's opening read "Remembering Samir Chanda. The world of Joker has been possible because of you. Only you could have made fantasy look so believable. Thank you for making my dream come true.".[3]

    Song

  • Kafirana Hai Neeyat Meri (I Want Just You) - A version of this song in which the hook lyrics went "I want fakht you" was leaked on the internet. The wordplay of the line shocked many and forced Shirish Kunder to issue a clarification. The director said that the leaked song was an old version that he had decided to discard. He clarified that since this was a family film, the final version of the song had been recorded with the hook line "I want just you".[4]
  • Kafirana Hai Neeyat Meri (I Want Just You) - Chitrangada made a cameo appearance in the film for this song.
